AirTran Airways offers 3 easy options for check-in:

Airport Counter Check-in: Check-in for your flight in the most conventional manner by stopping by the AirTran Airways counter at the airport.

Next Day or Advance Check-in: This option allows you to save time and check-in for your flight up to 24 hours in advance of your departure time via the internet. To check-in online, visit AirTran Airways’ online check-in page. After checking-in, you can print out your boarding pass and proceed directly to the security gates if you aren’t checking any baggage. If you have to check baggage be sure to stop by the AirTran Airways’ counter. This facility is available for domestic flights only.

Electronic Kiosk Check-in: For those who want to bypass the lines at the counter on busy travel days, AirTran Airways offers check-in services for passengers via electronic kiosks. Typically, these kiosks contain AirTran Airways signage on them and are located near the AirTran Airways counter.

AirTran Airways Baggage Information & Restrictions

Checked Luggage Restrictions for AirTran Airways

For those traveling Economy Class, charges are payable for all checked luggage. Each piece must not exceed 23 kg and with dimensions (L + W + H) not totaling more than 175 cm per piece. The allowances for Business Class are the same as Economy Class, however the first and second checked bag fees are waived.

Carry-On Baggage Restrictions for AirTran Airways

You are allowed to carry 1 piece of baggage with you on the flight at no extra charge. There is no specified maximum weight for carry-on baggage but it must not exceed a total dimension (L + W + H) of 137 cm.

AirTran Airways Seating Options

AirTran Airways offers 2 options for seating on their flights:

Economy Class (called “Coach Class” on AirTran Airways)

Economy class seating on AirTran Airways has a distance of 31 inches between seats. 85% of aisle seats have moveable armrests, and free XM Satellite Radio is available at every seat.

Business Class

Business class seating on AirTran Airways has a distance of 36 inches between seats. The seats are also wider and have more elbow room. Free XM Satellite Radio is also available at every Business Class seat.

AirTran Airways In-flight Service, Beverages, and Meals

Dependant on the flight, and type of aircraft, AirTran Airways offers a variety of food, beverage and entertainment options.

Economy Class offers free XM Satellite radio at every seat. It is also possible to purchase credit for wifi internet access using your own electronic equipment for $12.95 or less, although power points are not available. The company in-flight magazine, “Go” is also available to all passengers. A selection of complimentary beverages is available, with premium and alcoholic beverages available to purchase.

Business Class also offers free XM Satellite radio and the in-flight magazine. Wifi internet access is also available at a cost of $12.95 or less, but power points are not provided. Standard and premium non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages are available free of charge.
