Flying since 1987, Air Transat offers services to over 60 destinations in Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico, and the USA. Air Transat was named World's Best Leisure Airline in 2012 while providing travel to over 25 countries abroad.

Air Transat offers chartered flights, and is the designated carrier between Canada and the Caribbean. Its hubs are Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, and its other focus cities are Halifax, Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Calgary. Air Transat is not part of an alliance but does have codeshare agreements with CanJet and Enerjet. The Air Transat aircraft can be recognized by the airline's name in large blue letters on the white fuselage and a dark blue tail accented with a with a light blue star.

Carry-On Baggage Restrictions for Air Transat

For those flying Economy Class, you are allowed to carry 1 piece of baggage with you on the flight at no extra charge. The maximum weight for carry-on baggage must not exceed 5-10 kg, with a total dimension (L + W + H) of 114 cm (including wheels and handles). This allowance varies depending on your destination. For those flying Club Class, 1 piece of carry-on luggage is allowed, with a maximum weight of 15 kg per bag, and total dimensions (L + W + H) of 114 cm.

Air Transat Special Luggage Requirements

Air Transat Seating Options

Air Transat offers 2 options for seating on their flights:

Economy Class

Economy class seating on Air Transat has a distance of 29-33 inches between seats, depending on the aircraft. The seats are leather and on longer flights, have in-built audio consoles with headphones available for purchase.

Business Class (called “Club Class” on Air Transat)

Business class seating on Air Transat has a distance of 35 inches between seats. The seats are wider than those in Economy and the seat selection service is complimentary. The entertainment facilities are the same as in economy class.

Traveling with Pets on Air Transat

Flying with your pets can be a safe and fun experience if airline rules and regulations are followed. Live pets can only be transported to countries where the regulations of the country permit, and subject to the terms and conditions specified by that country. Air Transat In-flight Service, Beverages, and Meals

Dependant on the flight and type of aircraft, Air Transat offers a variety of food, beverage and entertainment options.

Economy class offers entertainment on longer flights, consisting of individual audio channels and movies and TV programs on overhead screens. Headphones are available for a small charge. Water, tea, coffee, soft drinks and juices are free on all flights and a meal service is available on longer flights. Other drinks and snacks are available to purchase. Club class offers entertainment on longer flights, consisting of individual audio channels and movies and TV programs on overhead screens. Complimentary headphones are available. Welcome cocktails are provided as well as complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, snacks and a bar service. A choice of gourmet meals and select wines are available.

Air Transat Fleet

Air Transat operates a fleet consisting of Airbus airplanes. Their fleet consists of Airbus A310 and A330 aircraft.

Air Transat does not operate any company lounges.

Air Transat Seat Selection

To pre-select seating with Air Transat a fee will apply. This normally ranges from $30 - $90 CAD, depending on destination and seats selected.

Air Transat Kids Club

Air Transat Kids Club is designed for Canadian residents between the ages of 2-11. Register your child(ren) in the Club and on your next trip with Air Transat the flight attendant will give your child a surprise loot bag. Inside will be colourful headphones, games and a log book. Children will fill in the details for their flight, draw pictures and paste photos. To officially become a member the child will need the “access code” in their log book. Use that access code to register online and Air Transat will send your child a Kids Club Member welcome kit in the mail.

With the official Kids Club Welcome Kit, your child will receive some interesting stuff such as baggage tags, a post card and coupons that they can use for on board treats. They even receive their very own member card which they will need to wear around their neck the next time they travel with Air Transat. This card entitles your child to all kinds of privileges. Spend less time waiting inline with the Kids Club membership at a special designated check-in counter, choose your child’s seat before departure for FREE and on most flights the child gets to board before other passengers.
