Unaccompanied Minors When a child travels alone parents can feel confident that they will be well cared for with Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. Contact information needs to be provided for any adults that will meet the child at their connecting point as well as at their destination point. To ensure the child is released only to an authorized person(s), we will check the meeting adult's I.D. and obtain a signature. Onboard, Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air do their best to make sure your child is well taken care of. They will be informed on safety information, restroom locations, and more. If the child is making a connection to an Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air flight, they will be safely escorted to his/her connecting flight. Please visit www.alaskaair.com or call the Airlines Reservation Department for the specific age qualifications and transfer requirements (also involving codeshare partner flights) for an unaccompanied minor. Guardian Contact Forms are also available at www.alaskaair.com and can be filled out prior to coming to the airport, speeding up the process greatly. Wheelchair Assistance Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air provide courtesy wheelchair services upon request. If travellers are unable to ascend or descend the stairway comfortably, there are special passenger lifts and/or portable ramps designed to assist with boarding and deplaning. Travellers should check with their departure gate agent at least one hour early for this service. IF you know in advance this this service is required you can call Alaska Airlines directly or ask your Travel agent to request this service for you. Service Animals When flying on Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air animals are allowed in the aircraft cabins however they must occupy the customer's personal space only and cannot obstruct an aisle or area such as an exit row. Emotional support animals are also accepted in the cabin. Such travellers are required to hold documentation of their disability and the medical or therapeutic need for the animal to travel with them in the cabin. |
