Here's how it works!

Total Miles credited to your account is dependant on the class of service you are traveling in as well as the distance of your flight. On most domestic class tickets there is a minimum of 500 Award and Level Miles, international is a minimum of 750. Not eligible for Miles are Award tickets, Air Miles or anything similar, ticketing in some classes may also earn fewer or no Miles at all.

Two kinds of Miles can be earned. These are "Award Miles" and "Level Miles".

Receive great offers with "Award Miles", from Award tickets to hotel and car rental packages - Miles remain valid as long as a minimum of one eligible flight every 3 years is purchased and flown with KLM, Air France or any other SkyTeam alliance member. Level Miles take you to a higher level: Ivory, Silver, Gold or Platinum. Each year Level Miles are put back to zero on December 31st.

Award Miles earned can add up to various exciting offers. From Award tickets and upgrades to safaris, car-racing to helicopter flights and more. Spend your Award Miles with many of the airline and non-airline partners of Flying Blue.

Exclusive service is provided in each of Flying Blue's four tiers of membership: Ivory, Silver, Gold and Platinum. The colour of your membership card represents your level. This is dependant on the number of Level Miles earned. Each level offers its own benefits and privileges. Ultimately with Level Miles, the more you travel, the higher your level becomes. When a certain number of Level Miles have been earned, you are automatically entered into the next level of membership with the ability to enjoy even more exclusive benefits and services.
