LAN Airlines offers 2 easy options for check-in:

Airport Counter Check-in: Check-in for your flight in the most conventional manner by stopping by the LAN Airlines counter at the airport.

Next Day or Advance Check-in: This option allows you to save time and check-in for your flight up to 24 hours in advance of your departure time via the internet. To check-in online, visit LAN Airlines’ online check-in page. After checking-in, you can print out your boarding pass and proceed directly to the security gates if you aren’t checking any baggage. If you have to check baggage be sure to stop by the LAN Airlines counter. This service is available for regional flights within South America and domestic flights within Argentina, Chile, Ecuador and Peru.

For those traveling Economy Class you will be allowed 2 items of checked baggage, not exceeding 23 kg per piece, 23-46 kg in total and with dimensions (L + W + H) not totaling more than 157 cm. Carry-On Baggage Restrictions for LAN Airlines

Passengers flying economy class are allowed to carry 1 piece of baggage on the flight at no extra charge. The maximum weight for carry-on baggage must not exceed 8 kg, with a total dimension (L + W + H) of 115 cm.

For those flying premium economy or business class, 1 piece of carry-on luggage is also allowed, but with a maximum weight of 16 kg, and total dimensions (L + W + H) of 115 cm.

LAN Airlines Seating Options

LAN Airlines offers 3 options for seating on their flights:

Economy Class

Economy class seating on LAN Airlines has a distance of 32 inches between seats. The Boeing 767 aircraft are currently being refitted to give passengers improved seating and extra entertainment options, including on-demand movies. The Airbus A340 aircraft also have seat-back screens.

Premium Economy Class

Premium economy class seating on LAN Airlines has a distance of 55 inches between seats. This class is available on South American flights on A318, A319 and A320 aircraft. The seats are leather, and center seats convert into a table, giving extra space.

Business Class (called “Premium Business” on LAN Airlines)

Business class seating on LAN Airlines has a distance of 74 inches between seats. This class is the fusion of the previous business and first class and is available on the Boeing 767 and Airbus A340 aircraft. The seats are 180 degree reclining bed-seats and there are privacy screens between each seat. 15.4 inch individual monitors and extra storage space are also features of this class.

LAN Airlines In-flight Service, Beverages, and Meals

Dependant on the flight, and type of aircraft, LAN Airlines offers a wide variety of food, beverage and entertainment options.

Economy Class offers in-flight entertainment that depends on the aircraft. The Boeing 767 and Airbus A340 aircraft provide passengers with seat back screens offering on-demand entertainment which includes 45 movies, 95 channels of TV programs, a music library of 600 CDs, 10 radio channels and 19 games. The Airbus A318, A319 and A320 aircraft offer a selection of movies and TV programs on main screens. All seats on these aircraft also have audio channels available from the armrest consoles. Hot meals, snacks and beverages are provided on LAN Airlines flights, according to the length of flight and your destination. If you require a special meal (for example vegetarian) this can be ordered in advance.

Premium economy class offers passengers free newspapers and magazines and an in-flight entertainment service on main screens. Headsets are provided. Specially created light meals are served, along with a selection of wines.

Business class (also known as “Premium Business”) offers larger individual screens of 15.4 inches. A selection of movies, short programs, games and CDs are available on demand by using the retractable remote control. Noise canceling headsets are provided to enhance passengers’ listening pleasure. Meals are served using new, specially designed crockery and glassware, and the classic but contemporary food has been created by top chefs. A selection of fine wine and champagne is available, and snacks and drinks are also served during the flight.
