Zombies Net Winner A Hockey Holiday in Switzerland

The continuing hockey lockout may be a downer, but the awesome responses to our contest have put smiles on our faces. Fans may be missing the game dearly but that’s not stopping them from doing interesting and worthwhile things with their time.

The winner of our contest informed us that she has spent the lockout consoling her husband by watching zombie movies with him.

Without further ado, we are delighted to announce that the winner of a trip to Switzerland is:

BETHANY L.

of St. Catharines, Ontario

Bethany has won two round-trip tickets to Zurich, a three-night hotel stay, as well as tickets to see some of Canada’s hockey stars play, transportation to and from the game, and $500 spending money.

We hope that she takes her husband because otherwise that would be kind of mean. Bon Voyage Bethany! We hope this experience is a blast!

You Said It: 152 Unlimited Ways to Experience Las Vegas

We asked and boy have you ever responded. We wanted to know what people would do if they had an unlimited day in Las Vegas and thousands have entered our Win An Unlimited Trip to Las Vegas contest and told us exactly that. We’re not sure whether it’s the freedom of having Unlimited Price Drop Protection or Sin City itself that brings out everyone’s wild and imaginative side, but we’ve loved reading all of the entries, so much so that we were inspired to create this fun word cloud:

Plane Shui Explains Mysteries Behind Airplane Seating Preferences

It is extremely rare to encounter a traveller who doesn’t care where they sit on a flight. Most of us have well-established seating preferences. But why?

FlightNetwork® consulted Feng Shui expert Tila Silverio to investigate how this ancient Chinese art could influence your choice of the best seat on a plane, and created this handy Plane Shui calculator to help you determine the section of the aircraft that suits you best.

Toronto Gas Price Dropped by 50 Cents Today

All the buzz that’s been generated by the introduction of Price Drop Protection on flights has us thinking about how great it would be if other things in life were covered by Price Drop Protection.

I recently came across the receipt for my first digital camera, which cost an astounding $900 and only had 2 megapixels. Ouch! Nowadays a camera with those features goes for less than $50.  Man, if only I  could receive the difference like I would if it had been the price of my airline ticket that had dropped.

Gasoline is another product whose price often has consumers wringing their hands. The price goes up, then it goes down, then it creeps up again. Invariably the price drops the day after you just filled up. How cool would it be if Price Drop Protection applied to gas? Our lives would be much simpler. Guess what? Today it does!

You heard me. Today is the day to fill up in Toronto, unless you like paying full price.

We’re offering a whopping 50 cents/litre off the price of  gas heading into the long weekend. It’s happening right now at 933 Warden Ave. (at Eglinton E.) Here’s the skinny on this money-saving Flight Network promotion.  There are also fun giveaways happening on-site.  Get there before the gas runs out!
