Akron Information
Akron, Ohio a.k.a the city of invention! Located on the northeast corner of Ohio and with a population of just over 200, 000 (2002-2003 Census) it is the fifth largest city in Ohio and has 50% of the U.S. populations living within a 500 mile radius. It is home to many tire companies making it the rubber capital of the world. It is also home the first cereal company with a downtown mall and hotel made out of the old Quaker Oats Factory. Not only is it an industrial, research and development based city it is also home to many museums, galleries, the Soap Box Derby, The University of Akron, The Ohio Ballet and The Akron City Orchestra.
