Flights to Alexandroupolis
The Evros prefecture
lies within Northeastern Greece, along with Thrace-- a seaport in the Gulf of
Ainos. The city of Alexandroupolis is at the inlet of the Aegean Sea which
links up with the Ainos Gulf. The census of people living in Alexandroupolis
was taken in 2001 with 52,720 inhabitants in the city and its suburbs. This
area of Greece dates back to second and third century BC, with many Empires
taking over the land. Since the beginning, when it was still a small fishing
village, many leaders from surrounding countries used this important passage
through Europe for 150 years. It is known as a region where east meets the
west; where Europeans border with Asian countries.
Some of the most
original countryside in all of Europe lies in Greece's northeastern region,
with sandy secluded beaches and an abundance of forested mountains lying in the
background. Alexandroupolis has established a name for itself with its upkeep
on heritage buildings, making it a point for tourists to capture the old
Greece. For the most part, Greece has a long period of civilization, which can
be seen in the museums, where people first practiced Greek mythology as a
religion. Almost any spot in Greece will have great traditional food, but some
of the more exquisite cuisine comes from Alexandroupolis. This is a port city
where many dishes revolve around seafood, but prepared in special Greek traditions.
With Turkey being its neighbouring country, many Turkish imports are seen
around the area, with some of the world’s finest tobaccos and teas.
