Second largest city on the South Island and is also the
oldest city, Dunedin is one of the four main centers of New Zealand. Perfect get away for the site-seers, there is
so much to do and so much to see, the culture, art and the wild life.
As Dunedin is the oldest city, there are so many
landmarks that need to be seen in your visit.
One that is a must see is the First Church. This church was designed in the Gothic era
and has a spire that reaches up to an astonishing 180 feet. The architect responsible for this
masterpiece also created a simpler version which is also in the city is Knox
Church . These are only two of the many
famous and beautiful structures.
Another essential to see is the Dunedin Chinese Garden;
there are only 3 in the world outside of china.
Centered around a large lake and with several structures within the Garden,
a tea house, study and a pavilion, it is peaceful please to visit, at least
once in a life time.
To find other culture in the city, you could go to a few
Art Galleries, or even museums to freshen up on you history as well. The Speight Brewery offers tours around the
building that has been a landmark since 1876.
At the end of the tour, if you are of age, there is beer testing.
Dunedin has the most extraordinary landscape, wildlife,
cultures and history, putting all that in on vacation would be worth it.
