Also make sure that you visit the Van Abbemuseum that holds over 2700 pieces of works since 1908.  There you can find sculptures, paintings and other works as well.  For a historical atmosphere on the city you can stop in at the Historisch Openlucht Museum.  There you will be able to see different displays about the city and other archeological finds. 

There are also events that happen all through the year that draw tourist and locals to a venue and share the experience with each other.  In May there is the International Horse Show, where horse lovers gather from around the world and learn about new products and participate in other related activities. In August there is the Reggae Sundance, where different reggae musicians come together and perform for everyone to enjoy.
