The Gold Coast is
located in Southeastern Australia within the state of Queensland. The
population is just under half a million residents, but the figure is unknown
due to the millions of people that make the Gold Coast a vacation spot year
round. Along with most of Australia
today, the Gold Coast was reclaimed by the British in the 1800's. From the
start of this citys existence, it became the main destination for local
Australians, and world travelers searching for sun. Within this region is 100
thousand hectares of national parks, surrounded by mountains hosting 260km of
trails for you to discover the natural waterfalls and wildlife. The Gold Coast
began to flourish entirely when Brisbane investors made this surfer s paradise
a real estate dream come true.
The
heart of the Gold Coast is its tourism industry, pulling in 2.5 billion dollars
a year. The draw to anyone coming here is how many days a year the sun shines
over 22 degrees. Australia is well known on the world scale for the best surf
breaks, and the most hardcore surf fans. It is definitely Australia's national
sport and past time: to surf and to be revolved around everything ocean.
Throughout the year there is more than enough activities to keep active, with
the Gold Coast having many theme parks to wander around in. Some of the more
famous of parks is Sea World, and the infamous Warner Bros studios. With Warner
Brothers being situated here, 75% of movies are made within the Gold Coast
limits. If you happen to be on the beach for some reason, you just might see
yourself as an extra in the next Warner Brothers film.
