Harrisburg Information
Harrisburg is located on the Susquehanna River in the state of Pennsylvania. Due to its location on the River it was a large industrial town and also a stop on the Underground Railroad, which assisted slaves in escaping slavery and going to Canada. When you visit Harrisburg it is important to see their Market Square where you will find shops and restaurants as well as the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts where you can find science, education and performing arts under one roof. It is also a popular destination when the Pennsylvania Farm Show is in town. It is a huge agricultural fair that is held every January.
