Regina is the sunniest capital city in Canada and is noted for recording an average of 2,365 sunshine hours each year. The economy is fuelled by agriculture, oil and gas production and development as well as telecommunications. Three potash mines, four sodium sulphate operations, salt, sand and gravel deposits used primarily in construction and a sodium bentonite plant are all located in Regina.
