Welcome to Tirana, Albania’s capital city and home to over half a million residents. The people of this city have heart and determination which was demonstrated by overthrowing the communist government in 1991. The city has cultural influences from its neighbouring countries such as Italy and Turkey that can be seen in its architecture. You will probably start your adventure in Skanderbeg Square, the city centre named after an Albanian hero. You won’t want to miss seeing the Clock Tower or the beautiful mosques. Once you’ve explored the urban landscape, take a drive out to Dajti Mountain for a breathtaking panoramic view of Tirana. Don’t miss what this growing metropolis has to offer.
