| Amsterdam Information Amsterdam, the capital and the
largest city of the Netherlands that is home to over 755,269 (2008) residents
and one of Europe’s largest vacation destinations. This city is filled
with history, culture and many tourist attractions that are friendly to both
first time travelers and common visitors. The heart of Amsterdam is
shaped almost like a pentagon and has many canals and unique boutiques and
shops for one to pass time in. Through careful planning
construction of the canals started in 1613 and is still used today as one of
the major transportation systems. Just for fun try venturing the canals
in glass bottom boats where you can view both the land life and beneath.
As the cities secondary transportation is bicycles, the streets are bike
friendly and there are plenty of trails to go on while visiting Amsterdam. For fun with the whole family, take a trip
down to Europe’s third largest zoo, Artis Zoo.
There you will be able to see many types of animals big and small, land
and aquatic. Not only will there be
animals but you can view rainforests, plantation and coral reefs. It is a great day trip with learning and just
having fun. Filled
with many attractions, museums, history shops, coffee shops and tulips there is
