Nairobi Information
Nairobi,
the cosmopolitan capital of Kenya? You must come and see for yourself to
experience what this city has to offer.
As the capital city of Kenya,
Nairobi is the
biggest being home to over 3 million people.
It is Eastern Africa’s most populous
urban centre and is found along the Nairobi
River. In the late 1800s, Nairobi was founded as a
rail depot, connecting Mombasa to Uganda.
It is not uncommon to find English named places due to its colonial past
under British Rule until 1963. Home to
organizations, such as the United Nations Environmental Program, UN Habitat
Headquarters and the Nairobi Stock Exchange, this city houses political and
financial power. The weather is
described as a moderate climate, with the sunniest and warmest months between
December and March. When visiting, enjoy
the many green spaces this city has to offer.
It’s most famous being Uhuru
Park. If you are a sports enthusiast, take in a
football game or enjoy one of the many golf courses the city has to offer. If you have come to Africa
to experience its wild outdoors, then you must stop at the Nairobi National Park. It was Kenya’s first established national
park. The clash of urban sprawl and the
need for protected land is epitomized by the view of skyscrapers from the
park. It is one of the most successful
rhinoceros sanctuaries. The Giraffe Center is a must see attraction, the
place where the endangered Rothschild Giraffe is bred and introduced back into
the wild. Nairobi also has great shopping, wonderful
cafes and a variety of fine dining to experience. Don’t pass it by on your adventures in Africa!
