New York Vacation Guide

Take your own bite out of the Big Apple with all inclusive vacations to New York and go people-watching in Times Square, window shop on Fifth Avenue, get starstruck on Broadway, go artsy at the Guggenheim and Metropolitan museums, visit Lady Liberty on historic Ellis Island, and enjoy lasting views of the city from the magnificent Empire State Building.

No matter when you book your vacation package — be it an extensively planned summer honeymoon or discount last minute winter getaway — there's always something exciting for you to experience. You could live out New York through the movies and eat a pastry outside the Tiffany store, join in the excitement at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, drink like the best of the Irish at St. Paddy's Day celebrations. Just wander through the streets, where New York's best treasures often lie, and discover unique finds such as blink-and-you-miss-it boutiques, and food trucks selling cheap but oh-so-cheerful treats.

When to Go and Weather

There is a constant flow of visitors to New York City and, since it is also a major financial and entertainment destination, there is never a low season when you can expect cheaper rates. The period around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's is even busier than usual, with flights and hotels getting extremely expensive. This is also when temperatures hover near freezing and the city receives quite a lot of snow. Although it makes for a pretty picture, this might not be the best time to explore all the best bits of New York which are generally more accessible in spring or fall. In the summer, New York gets hot and humid, with temperatures rising to well over 30°C. This is when New York has slightly fewer visitors, but unless you're used to these weather conditions, or really easy-going, avoid summer vacations to New York and opt for a visit in spring or fall instead.
