8 Secrets to Finding the Best Hotel for Little Money‏

Awesome Tips   Let's Save Some Dough

One of the worst parts about traveling is to get to your destination and find out that you paid twice the price for your hotel than the gentleman next to you at the bar. Some people have the patience to search for hours online and find a great price, some of us just don’t have the time or the patience to do it at all. I’m hoping that with these money saving tips, you’ll be able to save time and money on your next hotel booking.

1. Use deal savings websites

There are so many deal saving websites today, why buy direct from the hotel website? Corporations know that the words ‘discount,’ ‘sale,’ and ‘blowout’ are all words that peak our interest when booking trips online and so they cater to that. Booking hotels room on deal saving websites will often get you at least 10 – 20% of the hotel of your choice. They have made it easy and convenient for you to make searches by amenities, location, price and much more.

2. Fit maximum capacity

Why pay full price for a 4 person hotel when there are only one or two of you? If there are 4 of you, pay for a 4 person hotel room, 6 of you, buy a family suite rather than two rooms, you get the point. Always try and fill the rooms to max capacity in order to save the most money per person.

3. Look at ‘secret hotels’

This is a relatively new concept that has been skyrocketing in terms of performance lately online on deal saving sites. These sites give hotels the opportunities to sell their best hotel rooms that are still vacant, at half the cost. Having a paid for and occupied room is better than an empty room. At the end of the day any profit is better than none. However, hotels usually don’t want people to know that they’re selling these rooms at such a low rate which may harm the way customers view the hotel, so as a solution, travel sites have created ‘secret hotels.’462395627

4. Book on the same websites often for better discounts

Each deal saving website is bound to have deals, savings and reward programs. Most require a login ID and password which will allow you to keep tabs on hotels you’ve booked or previously searched. The more hotels and destinations you book, the better the discount. Why not save a few extra bucks and become a loyal customer on one deal saving site?

5. Consider buying package deals (hotel, food and excursions included)

If you’re looking to get a hotel and then planning on purchasing meals and excursions on top of that, why not pay for it all together? The bigger the package, the better the deal. Some deal saving sights are designated to hotels, others will have add on packages for car bookings, excursions, etc.

6. Consider renting out people’s spaces

You know hotels aren’t you’re only option right? There are hostels, bed and breakfasts and then the new and almighty space letting. People across the globe are renting out their homes, rooms, cottages, etc. for people like you looking for a homely stay at an affordable price. If you’re looking for cheap, try booking a bedroom in someones house, if you’re looking for privacy, book someones cottage or apartment.

7. Always book online and not when you get there

This might be a given for some of you. These deal saving sites are there for you to save money. If you’re planning on winging it and booking direct with the hotel or upon arrival, don’t be surprised if you’re asked to pay full price. In no circumstance have I ever saved money booking direct with the hotel.

8. Book hotels outside of the city centers

Some cities may be more convenient to stay in the city center, others may have easily accessible transit that takes you outside of the city center at a low cost. If this is possible, consider booking outside of the city center to save a few extra dollars.Learned a few things here? Great! Have additional tips?
