The Golden Triangle India

The Golden Triangle is India’s most popular tourist circuit, connecting New Delhi, Jaipur and Agra. The 720 km journey is triangular shaped on a map, giving it its name. It’s the perfect introduction into this magical country as you explore the streets and the sites in these 3 amazing, and very different cities. Explore the cities, while at the same time experience the history, culture and the buzz of each of them. It’s a journey filled with contrasts that is packed with unforgettable highlights.

Starting in New Delhi, you will visit iconic sites like the Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb and Jama Masjid. Leave the city and drive to the desert and the Pink City of Jaipur, a vibrant and colourful place that is crammed with markets selling gems, jewellery and textiles.  It is also home to the impressive Amber Fort, the City Palace and Jantar Mantar. The final stop on the Golden Triangle tour is Agra; known as the Taj City. This is where you will see the iconic Taj Mahal, which is the most photographed site in India and a popular spot for that obligatory selfie.

Getting there

New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport is the busiest in India and the gateway to the Golden Triangle. Air India provides comfortable flights directly from Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Washington DC as well numerous European air hubs. Canadians can arrive by flying with Jet Airways from Toronto. The circuit itself is usually travelled by coach or private tour, with each city being around 4-5 hours from each other.  If you’re adventurous, you can do it by travelling on the Shatabdi express train.
