Tucson International Airport (TUS) has a single terminal which is spread over three levels. Most ground transportation services are located on the terminal's lower level. Consult the airport's website for further details on any of these services.
Public Transit: Sun Tran buses on Route 6 travel between the airport and the city centre. Bear in mind that you might have to transfer to another route along the way, and bus trips can take well over an hour depending on which part of the city you're going to. While fares are cheap at approximately $2 USD for a one-way ticket, this is not the best transport option if you're in a hurry to get to the city. Children who are five years old or younger can travel for free.
Airport Shuttle: Private companies like Arizona Stagecoach provide door-to-door shared-ride and exclusive shuttle services and tickets for most of these can be bought at the airport. Fares vary depending on the arrival time of your Tucson flights , what your destination is, and how many bags you're travelling with. On average, a one-way shared-ride ticket for a single passenger with one bag is approximately $30 USD.
Hotel Shuttle: Most major hotels in Tucson provide complimentary shuttle services from the airport and you can either make arrangements for this service at the time of booking, or use the phone at the baggage claim information desk to contact your hotel.
Taxi: Cabs are easily available on the lower level of the airport terminal and are operated by four different cab companies. Flag drop charges are about $4.50 USD and prices are charged on a per-cab basis, meaning that there are no additional charges for baggage or additional passengers. Average fares for a trip to the city centre range between $30-40 USD depending on your destination.
Car Rental: While companies like Alamo, Avis, and Budget operate booking kiosks and car pick-up facilities at the airport, others like Thrifty and Advantage operate off-site services and provide passengers with a free pick-up shuttle from the airport to their parking areas.
Other: Shuttles to military facilities in Sierra Vista as well as chauffeured cars and limousine services are also available at the airport. The departure areas for these is located on the lower level commercial roadway outside the airport terminal.
