Belize City Vacation Guide
Before you take off on an eco-adventure to the country's interiors, stick around in Belize's former capital and enjoy a few days in this city which has a lot more to it than first meets the eye.
Leaning out into the Caribbean Sea, the energy and bustle of Belize City provides quite a different vibe from the natural attractions that the rest of the country is famous for. Aside from the tiny bars, cafes, and restaurants vying for your attention, you can visit one of the world's few operating swing bridges which connects the north and south sides of the city, tour Central America's oldest Anglican church at St. John's Cathedral, or catch a glimpse of the spectacular natural attractions you can expect on the remainder of your trip at the Museum of Belize. And if you've always wanted to fix that chipped tooth from way back when, use your vacations to Belize City to do it. Belize City is fast growing to be a haven for cheap dentistry and its clinics draw visitors from around the Americas and beyond.
Belize City vacations are most popular in the country's dry season which extends from February to April, and this is when you will find flights, accommodations, and tours most expensive to book. Travelling between mid-November and February will get you cheaper deals on most all inclusive packages, but you will not be able to escape all of the city's wet weather.
Prices and rain fall together here, and travelling in the wet season between May and November will get you the cheapest of all inclusive deals, with the assurance of plenty of rainfall. Although some may see the wet weather as a deterrent, this is the best time to see the country as lush and green as it gets.
