Over 20 kilometres of spectacular beaches on Mexico's Gold Coast and a fascinating historic district that just keeps getting better with every passing year are just two of the many reasons why you should snap up an all inclusive deal and be on your way to Mazatlan without a second thought.

Mazatlan Vacation Guide

Its days as Hollywood's playground are long gone but in the case of Mazatlan, that's probably a good thing. Now, all inclusive vacations to Mazatlan are ideal for travellers on a budget without any of the tacky elements that are usually associated with low-cost destinations. Over the past decade, the city has undergone a transformation that has seen Mexican history, culture, and tradition come to life again in its Pueblo Viejo (Old Town), and the numerous hotels, resorts, restaurants, and shops blend seamlessly into the city's waterfront area, providing a wide variety of options ranging from one-of-a-kind specials to ridiculously cheap.

Outdoorsy types will enjoy the Olimplaya Mazatlan, a sports and culture event held over two months which involves the public in a range of events and has enthusiasm as the only requirement for participation. For everyone else, Carnaval Mazatlan provides fun, excitement, and large doses of Mexico's vibrant energy. The self-guided Artwalk through the city's historic centre is a great way to get an introduction to Mazatlan's rich history on the cheap, and gives you an opportunity to pick up some one-of-a-kind pieces of art, pottery, and sculpture.

Locals and visitors alike rave about the sunsets here so grab your front-row seat and a beer on the Malecon, and enjoy some of Mother Nature's best work as colours explode over the Pacific coast.

When to Go and Weather

It seems like everyone knows that Mazatlan is best visited in the winter and that's precisely why vacationing here between December and March can get quite expensive. The Carnaval Mazatlan celebrations combined with pleasant temperatures averaging 20°C are more than enough to draw a large number of tourists from across North America as well as numerous cruise ships which dock here for a day before carrying on to the next port of call.

From June to September, Mazatlan vacations are best avoided owing to the frequent downpours, high humidity levels, and temperatures going into the low 30s. Package deals are significantly cheaper during this season, but if you're a beach-lover on a budget who doesn't want to chance the rains, travel in the shoulder seasons from April to May or from October to November. During these times, you can expect cheap deals on hotels and flights, pleasant weather, and fewer tourists to share the beach with.
