When to Go and Weather

The city's desert location means there are plenty of sunny days available for vacations to Phoenix. But if you're not used to high temperatures, the frequent highs of 45°C and above may be a bit much for you to bear between June and August. This, coupled with the occasional thunderstorms makes summer an unpopular time to book Phoenix vacations. The weather is much more pleasant between December and February, when temperatures range from the high teens to nearly 5°C at night. If this is when you're visiting, remember to pack something warm for the evenings. There is more rain during these months, but the showers rarely last more than an hour at a time, leaving you plenty of time to spend outdoors.

All inclusive package deals are cheaper from late April to May and from September to October. But if you want to spend Christmas or New Year's in Phoenix, you'd best book as early as you can as this is when vacations here are most expensive.
