Nkhata Bay

Nkhata Bay is a bustling port on Lake Malawi with an interesting history as an integral part of Malawian trade. The beach just a few minutes from the port and is part of a protected national park surrounded by rolling hills covered with green vegetation and gorgeous blue water hugging the shore. Relax on the velvety sand as you peer at the rainbow-colored boats floating on the horizon or take a boat tour of the tiny, abandoned islands sprinkled throughout the lake to enjoy what is said to be some of the best snorkeling in the world.

Nkhata bay is situated 400 Km from Malawi’s international airport is in Lilongwe. Since there are no direct flights to Malawi from Europe or the United States most travellers connect via South Africa, Ethiopia or Kenya. The best flight options to Malawi are with Ethiopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airlines and Kenya Airlines.
