Umhlanga Main Beach

An ideal beach for families, Umhlanga Main Beach received the much coveted “Blue Flag” status, meaning it’s clean, safe, aesthetically pleasing, and promotes environmental responsibility and education. The mellow waves and on-duty lifeguards make swimming a safe activity, while a paved walkway along the beach provides easy access to eateries, shops, and accommodations. In addition, the Umhlanga Lighthouse is an esteemed attraction near the beach that serves as good inspiration for sand castle challenges.  Beachfront accommodations are recommended, as they allow you to maximize your time at this cheerful shore.
