El Tecolote Beach

El Tecolote Beach is not Cabo San Lucas. Instead of a beach crowded with tourists and overpriced drinks, El Tecolote offers an authentic and beautiful Mexican beach experience. The water is warm, the food is good, the staff only speaks Spanish and everything is sold in Pesos – you’re a long way from Cabo. El Tecolote is delightfully isolated, yet offers a wide array of fun activities including jetski and boogie board rentals, delicious and cheap restaurants, and the opportunity to enjoy Baja California’s simple natural beauty. This extraordinary beach is the perfect marriage of affordable comfort and untouched beach oasis.

Getting There

In order to get to El Tecolote beach, you’ll first need to travel to the nearest town, La Paz, Mexico. There are two main options for getting to La Paz. You can either fly into San José del Cabo and rent a car for the two hour drive north to La Paz, or you can fly from Mexico City directly into La Paz. Both Cabo and Mexico City have plenty of international flight options. Once you are in La Paz, simply take the affordable, hourly van shuttles from the main bus depot to the beach.
