Punta de Choros

Punta de Choros is another rugged Chilean beach that wows its visitors with natural beauty and an abundance of wildlife. You can expect to see whales, dolphins, penguins, sea otters, and a number of other exciting creatures on land and in the sea. Boat tours are recommended, but you won’t be entirely missing out by simply exploring the coastline, ocean, and village on your own. Several hotels and restaurants are available, but because the area thrives on tourism, they are slightly more expensive than some other areas of the country.

Getting there

The best way to access Punta de Choros is via the roughly 2-hour-long drive from La Serena, where you can fly into La Florida Airport. There is also a mini bus that travels between La Serena and Punta de Choros two times a day if you’re not interested in driving yourself. Canadians can fly to La Serena, Chile from Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa and other Canadian cities.
