Oman is full of beautiful surprises, Fizayah Beach, located at the end of a dusty hairpin road, is one of them. After the notoriously beautiful but adventurous drive through the mountains, you’ll reach the dirt path which leads to 5km of untouched white-sand beach kissed by the turquoise blue waters of the Arabian sea. It’s a local favorite but a lot of travelers don’t make the trek, so if you’re brave enough to take the drive you’ll be rewarded with seclusion and some of the most spectacular views on the southwestern coast of Oman.
The best way to reach Fizayah Beach is to fly into Salalah International Airport and take the 64-kilometre drive from the airport to the beach. The drive is a great experience, but it can be a bit daunting for newcomers to the region, so it pays to pays to have a four-wheel-drive vehicle (for the rough dirt roads) and hire a driver or tour guide. Flights to Muscat, Oman are easily available from New York, Calgary, Edmonton, Paris, Venice, Delhi and other popular destinations.
